Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland 28 Aug 1947: 
"The celebration of a golden Jubilee mass in St. Patrick's 
Catholic Church at 7 o'clock this morning marked the golden 
wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Edward P. Cosgrove, 607 
Sylvan Avenue.  The Very Rev. J. Lawrence Kilkenny, pastor, 
was celebrant of the mass and read the Papal Blessing from 
Pope Pius XII on the couple.  Music during the mass was 
played by Sister Acquinette.  Although the actual date of 
their anniversary is September 5, Mr. and Mrs. Cosgrove 
held the observance today so that one of their daughters, 
Sister Mary Antoinette, S.S.N.D., Midland, could be present.  
Due to her school duties she would be unable to attend later.  
Mr. and Mrs. Cosgrove were married in the rectory of St. 
Patrick's, September 5, 1897, and one of their attendants, 
Mrs. Restley Copley, this city, sister of Mr. Cosgrove, was 
present this morning.  Mrs. Cosgrove is the former Miss 
Margaret Turner, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob L. 
Turner  who resided on Cecelia Street.  Mr. Cosgrove is the 
son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Cosgrove, Maryland 
Avenue, a pioneer family....The ten children, of the couple 
were present. They include Edward A. Cosgrove, Mrs. Rosella 
Dreyer,  Mrs. Alfred Carr, Herman J. Cosgrove, Sr., Sister 
M. Antoinette, Mrs. Walter Keiser, Charles B. Cosgrove, Mrs. 
Paul Grabenstein, John Cosgrove and Clement J. Cosgrove. 
There are also 27 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. 
Mr. Cosgrove is an employe of the Cumberland Brewing Company 
and both are active and in good health."
