MARTIN, James and son "The Cumberland News" Cumberland, Maryland, Wednesday 4 Jan 1965: "
Double Martin Rites-A requiem mass for a father and his son, both formerly of Pekin and 
Lonaconing, was held Saturday in St. Paul Catholic Church, Akron. James F. Martin, 75, 
of Akron, died December 28 there and his son, John LeRoy Martin, 52, died in the same 
city on December 30. The elder Mr. Martin was a member of the Knights of Columbus and 
the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He was a supervisor for Firestone Products Company 
where he had worked for over 40 years. His wife, Mrs. Flora (McKenna) Martin, preceded 
him in death. His parents were Patrick H. and Catherine (Barry) Martin. He is survived 
by one daughter, Mrs. Verna Thomas, Akron, and two brothers, Roy Martin, Hollidaysburg, 
Pa., and Julius Martin, Akron. Attending the funeral and interment in Akron was James T. 
Miller and granddaughter, Diane Furstenburg, of this city."
