Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland, Saturday, November 24, 1945:  
"Joseph William McKenna, 40, a native of Gilmore, died in Spokane, Wash., of 
a heart attack Monday.  A son of the late Patrick E. and Elizabeth F. McKenna, 
he left here 23 years ago.  Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lucy McKenna, of 
Washington, D. C.; two sisters, Mrs. Bernard Ellis, of Pittsburgh, and Mrs. 
Bernard J. Bock, Washington, and a brother, James P. McKenna, also of 
Washington.  The body will be sent to Washington where services and interment 
will be held."
