MORAN, J.P. “The Herald" Piedmont, West Virginia, Fri 1 Apr 1909: "
As Mr. J. P. Moran, of Grafton, a veteran B & O railroad engineer, was walking towards his 
home Tuesday and just as he was crossing the bridge into West Grafton, he dropped dead. Mr. 
Moran had retired from railroading for the past few years, and leaves a wife and several 
children. He had a host of friends all along the line between Grafton and Cumberland. Mr. 
Moran was the father of Mr. D. A. Moran, B & O telegraph operator at this place.”
