Oakland -  Mrs. Eula Maxine Sines, 48, of RD 1, Oakland, Swallow Falls, died 
yesterday in University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore, where she had been a 
patient for two days.  Born in Damascus, VA., she was a daughter of Mrs. 
Vertie (Pike) Philippi, of Swallow Falls, and the late Harry Philippi.  She 
was a member of the Pine Grove Church of the Brethren.  Besides her mother, 
Mrs. Sines is survived  by her husband, Carl Sines;  three daughters Miss Judy 
Sines, at home;  Mrs. Betty Miller, Swallow Falls, and Mrs. Carolyn Davis, 
Baltimore;  two sons, Clifford Sines, Baltimore, and Paul Sines, Cumberland;  
three sisters, Mrs. Muriel Sines, Mrs. June Friend and Mrs. Rett Davis, all of 
Swallow Falls;  three brothers, William Philippi, of Oregon; Paul Philippi, 
Oakland and Harry Philippi, Swallow Falls, and six grandchildren.  The body is 
at the Minnich Funeral Home, Oakland, where friends will be received today 
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Services will be conducted tomorrow at 1:30 p.m.. 
in the Pine Grove Church of the Bretheren.  Rev. Donald Matthews and the Rev. 
J. Roger Fike will officiate and interment will be in Steele Cemetery, 
Friendsville.
