"The Piedmont Herald" Piedmont, West Virginia, Thur 25 Feb 1932: "
Mrs. Elizabeth Irene Melvin Walsh, wife of Francis Walsh, of West Fairview 
Street, Piedmont, died last Saturday at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, 
from complications. Mrs. Walsh had been in ill health for several years 
and had undergone several operations in that time. Besides her husband, 
she leaves one daughter, Mary Frances, her father, John W. Melvin, of 
Marianna PA, and a brother, John J. Melvin, of Piedmont. The funeral was 
held Tuesday at St. Peter's with interment in the parish cemetery. 
Relatives and friends here to attend the funeral were:  Mrs. Myles D. 
Byrne, Miss Margaret Byrne, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Shefflett, and Mr. and Mrs. 
Dewey Barton, Aliquippa PA: Mrs. John Acklin, Miss Elizabeth Melvin, John 
W. Melvin, John Acklin, Marianna PA; Mrs. John Comer, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin 
Eichorn, Frostburg; Mr. and Mrs. John Campbell, Miss Marie Campbell, 
Midland; Mrs. Joseph Ryan, Miss Nellie Berkenbaugh, Miss Mary Walsh, Mrs. 
Patrick Nolan, Lonaconing; John Melvin, James Melvin, Mrs. Margaret 
Melvin, Mrs. John Berkenbaugh, Miss Pauline Berkenbaugh, Cumberland."
