The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Will of Ann Lyon Written February 18th 1845 in Charles County, Maryland In the name of God amen, I Ann Lyon of Charles County in the state of Maryland being in bad health though of sound mind memory and understanding knowing the certainty of death and the uncertainty of time thereof to come being (?) to settle my worldly affairs and that I may be the better prepared to meet my God when it shall please him to call me home. First I commit my soul into the hands of almighty God and my body to the earth from whence it was taken and after my just debts and funeral expenses are paid I give and bequeath the rest of my Estate both real and personal to the children of Thomas Chapman Lyon namely Ann Elizabeth Lyon, Teresa Lyon, William Henry Lyon, James Thomas Lyon and any other children whist the said Thomas Chapman Lyon may have here after by his present wife Sarah in equal proportion to them their heirs and assigns forever and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint Thomas Chapman Lyon my sole administrator of this my last will and testament revoking and annulling all other heretofore made by me in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 18th day of February 1845 - Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of - Ann Lyon {seal} Benjamin Adams William E. Burttes (?) Joseph R. Burch On the back of the afore going Will it is thus written, Charles County Sct. September 14th 1855 then came Thomas Chapman Lyon executor of the last Will and Testament of Ann Lyon late of Charles County deceased and made oath in the Holy Evangely of almighty God that the afore going instrument of writing is the true whole last Will and Testament of said deceased that hath come to his hands or possession and that he doth not know of any other. Burttes one of the subscribing witnesses to the afore going last Will and Testament of Ann Lyon late of Charles County deceased and made oath on the Holy Evangely of almighty God that he did see the testatrix therein named sign and seal this Will and that he heard him publish pronounce and declare the same to be his last Will and Testament and at the time of his passing she was to best of his apprehensions of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding and that he together with Benjamin Adams and Joseph R. Burch they respectively subscribed their names as witnesses to this Will in the presence and at the request of the testator and in the presence of each other. Test: T. A. Smith Reg. Of Wills
