First I give to my Eldest son Hugh Conn one Hundred Acres of a Tract of Land called Josephs park where he now is Seated Lying on the North side of Tisch Creek this I give to him and the Lawfull begotten heirs of his Body for ever and as I have given him an Equall share of my personal Estate already he is not further to Intermeddle with what of my personal Estate remains, and is to be divided among the Seven children. Secondly I give to my Second Son James Conn one Hundred Acres of the foregoing Said Tract Called Josephs park Lying between his Brother Hugh Conns Land, and the Land where I now have a Quarter this I give to him and the lawfull begotten heirs of his Body forever. Thirdly I give to my third Son John Conn part of a Tract of land Called Hudson Range Lying on bothe Sides of the Beaver dam South East and North West and Reaching from a Branch called Fits branch to Doctor Haswells Dwelling Plantation Containing between two or three hundred Acres or perhaps Three Hundred Acres. This I give to him and the Lawfull begotten heirs of his Body forever. Fourthly I give to my fourth Son George Conn two hundred Acres of my Dwelling Plantation lying North West of Fits branch and to be made of that Tract of Land called Hudsons Range and the addition of the upper End of a Tract of Land I lately bought of Mr William Thornton called Wm and Ann this I give to him and the lawfull begotten heirs of his Body for ever &c Fifthly I give to my fifth Son Samuel Conn one hundred Acres of the forementioned Tract of land Called Josephs park where I now have a Quarter this I give to him and the Lawfull begotten heirs of his body forever and sixthly I give to my son Joseph Conn my Dwelling Plantation after my Decease Containing about two hundred Acres this I give to him and the Lawfull begotten heirs of his Body forever &c but with this Exception and under this Limitation If God spares and preserves me in the Land of the Living till my Son Joseph Conn Comes to Age but if it should please God to remove me out of this World before my Son Joseph Conn Comes to age, then it is my Will that my Son James Conn to whome I give his Dividend of Land in Rock Creek whall Come and inheritt my same dwelling Plantation at the Eastern Branch and the inheritance I give him at Rock Creek shall be given to his brother Joseph Conn to him and the Lawfull begotten heirs of his body forever. This change make uon the Account of my Younger Children Confiding in my Son James Conn for his faithfulness diligence and Care of his young Brothers and sisters. My Will further is that if any of the forementioned three Sons Viz Hugh Conn James Conn and Samuel Conn to whome that Tract of Land Called Josephs Park die before they come to Inherit or have Lawfull begotten heirs of the forementioned land Called Josephs Park Equally to be apply'd to the Survivors to whom that Tract of Land is given but if they have no Lawfull begotten heirs then to Survivor at the Eastern Branch and further if any of the forementioned three Sons Viz John Con George Conn and Joseph Conn to whom that Tract of Land called Hudsons Range, White Lackington, Wm and Anne left to should Die before they come to Inherit or have lawfull begotten Children, then their Particular Dividends of the Land shall be equally apply'd to the Survivors to whom those Tracts are given but if they have no lawfull begotten Heirs, then to the Survivors of Josephs Park. I give to my Daughter Ann Conn a Negroe Girl called Lydia. Also to my Daughter Elizabeth Conn a Negroe Girle Called Betty Betty these I give them over and above their Share in my Personal Estate to make up their want of Land and if any of the negroe Girls should Die before my forementioned Daughters Come to Age then the Negroe Girls shall be made up to them by negroes about the same age. Further I give to my Son Hugh Conn a Plate Tobacco Box with his own name upon it, also One Suit of my Wearing Apparell and an Equal share of my Books this being all i have allotted him with what I have given him already all the rest of my Personall Estate I give to my Seven Children as forementioned in my Will Viz Sons and two Daughters to be Equally Divied among them when they come to Age. I constitute my sons James Conn and George Conn and John Conn Executors of this my last Will and Testament in Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seale this fourth of March One thousand and Seven hundred and thirty eight. Hugh Conn (Seal) On the day & year above written Hugh Conn the Testataor published this to be his last Will and testament before the Subscribers James Edmonston Thomas Cleland David Ross On the back of this Will was endorsed to Wit August 26 1752 then Came Doctor David Ross one of the Subscribing Evidences to the foregoing Will & being Duly Sworn on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty Saith he saw Hugh Conn the Deceased Testor Sign and Seal the foregoing will & heard him publish & declare the Same to be his last Will and testament and that at the time of his so doing he was of sound and disposing Memory to the best of his apprehension & in his presence & at his Request he Subscribed the same as Evidence and that James Edmonston & Thos Clayland the other two Subscribing Evidences was present & Subscribed at the request of the Testator & in their presence Sworn before Pet Dent Dty Comry of Prince Geos County On the 19th day of April Anno Dom 1753 Came James Edmonston one other of the Subscribing Witnesses to the within Will and made oath on the holy Evangels of Almighty God that he Saw Hugh Conn the Testator Sign and Seal the within Will and heard him publish and Declare the Same to be his last Will and Testament that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of this Deponents apprehension of Sound and Disposing mind and memory and that Thomas Colegland to the best of his belief & Remembrance and David Ross the other two Subscribing Witnesses were present and Subscribed their names as Witnesses in the presence of the said Testator and at his request Sworn before D Dulany Comry 10 Sides Recorded in Liber #1 folio 558 Orphans' Court of Prince George's County, Maryland
