QUERY 2ND: I appreciate your response. I was able to add Mary Woodward Stirling's ancestors to my records. I had the names and dates of Joseph Ashton's children. What I am looking for is the Civil War service of the brothers other than Alexander (my grandfather). One source said that he had five sons who fought for the north in the civil war - I'm trying to find their record of service as well as their descendants. I have a record of my grandfathers service and a portion of the diary that he kept during April 1864 to June 1964.
