Hare, wife of Jacob G. Hare, of Fairfield, Adams Co., died on Tuesday morning, June 8th, at 8:30 o’clock, after an illness of 17 months, from a complication of diseases, aged 67 years, 1 month and 2 days. She is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs. Harry E. Moore, of Highland Twp.; Simon J. Hare, of Harrisburg; Miss Mary Hare, of Philadelphia, and Mrs. Jacob Meckley, of Concant, Ohio. Also 5 brothers and 4 sisters - William, Pius, Frances and Samuel Althoff, of Gettysburg, and Joseph Althoff, of Taneytown, Md., Mrs. Nelson Flaharty, Miss Mary Althoff, of Gettysburg, Mrs. James Clunk, of York, and Mrs. Hattie C. Hemler, of South Dakota. Mrs. Hare was a constant member of the Catholic Church all her life and an ardent worker in all that concerned the good of the church. The funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Taneytown, on Friday morning at 9 o’clock. Requiem High Mass was read. The pallbearers were Messrs. Geo. Keble, John A. Cook, Henry Beard, Jas. A. Sanders. The funeral was largely attended by relatives and friends. The Hanover Herald – Saturday, June 19, 1909
