In the name of God! Amen! I Henry Will of Conowago Township Adams County & State of Pennsylvania being in good health of body & of a sound & disposing mind, memory & understanding, (con?) (?) (certainty?) of death & the uncertainty of the time thereof, do make & publish this my last Will & Testament in the manner & form following to wit. Principally & first of all I commend my soul into the hand of Almighty God who gave it, and my body I commit to the earth, to be buried in a decent and Christian manner at the Roman Catholic Burial Ground of Conowago Chapel at the discretion of my executors hereinafter named and to Such worldly estate wherewith I have been blessed in this life I do give & dispose of the Same in manner following = to wit = Imprimis my will is & I do hereby order & direct my executors hereinafter named to pay off and discharge all my just debts and funeral expenses as soon as can conveniently be done, after my decease __ Item My will is & I hereby order & direct my executors hereinafter named to make sale of all of my personal property that may be remaining at my decease at public Vendue __ Item I give & bequeath to my daughterinlaw Mary widow of my deceased son John the house & premises in which she lives to be for her use as long as she remains widow without charge & in case of her marriage the said house & said property (?) be for the use of the children of my said son John_ the said house and premises to be charged the sum of one hundred dollars & to be deducted out of my said Son (Johnís?) (share of?) my estate & my will further is that the sum of thirty dollars shall be appropriated by my executors hereinafter named out of my estate to keep the said house in repairs until the children are of age & said is not to be charged against said widow or children __ Item I give devise and bequeath unto my son Joseph the house and premises in which he now resides & to his heirs, the said house and premises to be charged against him at the sum of two hundred and twenty dollars, The said Joseph shall not have the privilege of selling the same, or any part thereof, until his children shall be of age & not then unless with their consent, & the said sum to be deducted out of their respective shares. I give devise devise and bequeath unto my daughter Appolonia Sneeringer & her heirs the piece of land & premises this day conveyed by me to her free of a charge & over & above her respective proportionable share as heir out of my estate __ Item I give devise & bequeath unto my daughter Mary Martin & her heirs the house and premises in which she now resides to have & to hold the same to her & her heirs & assigns forever__ The said house and premises to be charged at the sum of one hundred and twenty eight dollars & to be deducted out of said daughters share & also the further sum of twelve, which I advanced to her, shall be deducted out of her share __ Item and whereas I owe my Grand daughter Juliana the sum of (one?) hundred and five dollars I hereby order & direct my executors hereinafter named to (fulfill?) said sum together with the Interest due thereon at my decease, and the further sum of two hundred dollars I hereby give & bequeath unto her in full of her mothers share out of my estate, & her aforesaid sum to remain at interest until the said Juliana shall have arrived at the age of twenty one years. __ Item And Whereas I have advanced to Elizabeth Swartz the sum of 50 dollars my will is that said sum shall be deducted out of her share as one of my heirs. Item after my decease my will is, and I do hereby order & direct my Executors hereinafter named to make sale, by Public Vendue, of all my remaining real estate, & the premises thereof shall then be divided to & among my Children Share and Share alike and Their Heirs (?) Joseph, Magdalen intermarried with Dennis (M?). Conaghan and in case of her death among her heirs Mary intermarried with Baltzer Martin dec & in case of her death, among her heirs (?) Appolonia intermarried with Jacob Sneeringer dec. Elizabeth intermarried with Martin Swartz dec . Therisa intermarried with Henry (Criegner?), & Mary widow of my son John she the said widow of my son John shall only draw so much of the interest as will be necessary for her to (care for?) my said son Johnís children till the age of seven years, and my said son Johnís shall be placed forth to interest, until said children shall have arrived at the age of twenty one years The above mentioned sums for the houses & etc shall be charged against the respective legacy (?) they are willed so as to equalize all the heirs __ My real estate aforesaid (?) (?) (?) one year after my decease & the family ... (?) on my (?) Said year in the same manner in which (?) (?) __ Item And in case of my not being able during my lifetime to build & erect a stable on the land this day conveyed by me to Appolonia Sneeringer, I do hereby direct my Executors hereinafter named to build & erect a Stable as the same size as the(?) (?) (?)one there Standing at the expense of my estate, and also cut from my Chestnut timberland 500 chestnut rails and deliver them free of any charge on said land to enclose the same __ Item My Will is that Mary widow of my son John dec shall also have one hundred rails to be made and delivered by my executors as the above are unto & on her lot by me willed unto her and in case after this said Mary is marrying again, then & in that case, if she should wish to remain in the said house & premises she must pay such rent as the Guardians of the minor children of my said son John & the said Mary shall agree upon. And Lastly I do hereby nominate constitute (& appoint?) my worthy friends Anthony Shorb & John Shenfelder the Executors of my Last Will & Testament hereby giving & granting unto my executors my full power & authority to sign seal & execute good & sufficient Deeds of Conveyance for the whole or any part of my real estate (?) (?) manner as I could do were I personally present, Hereby revoking & annulling all & every will & testament as Void (any?) testament heretofore by me at any time made & declaring (this instrument?) to be my last will & testament __ In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fourth day of April in the year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred & thirty 1830. Signed, sealed, published, pronounced & declared by the testator to be his last will & testament in the presence of us, who have at his request in his presence & in the presence of each other subscribed the same as witnesses John Lawrence (mark) Henry Will Joseph Swartz Jno L. Gubernator I Henry Will of Conewago Township, Adams County & State of Pennsylvania do this third day of March in the Year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred & thirty one, make & publish this Codicil to my last will & testament in manner following, whereas in my said last will & testament I have devised & bequeathed unto my grand daughter Juliana daughter of my daughter Margaret the sum of two hundred dollars besides the sum of money which I may owe her at my death and which I have mentioned in my last will. Now I hereby revoke and make void said legacy & bequest to my grand daughter Juliana of the sum of Two Hundred dollars & I do hereby order & declare that my will is that my said grand daughter shall come in & receive the full share out of my estate both real & personal to which her mother my dec daughter Margaret would have been intitled & received had she survived me, and that she shall in all respects stand in the same relation & grade to me as my other heirs __ and I further give and bequeath unto my said grand daughter Juliana my Young Mooly Cows. It is further my will and I order and direct my executors named in my last will and testament to give and pay unto the hands of the Rev Matthew Lekeu or to the presiding pastor of the Conewago Church the sum of twenty dollars for religious purposes. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this third day March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & thirty one______ Signed sealed, published and pronounced by the testator as a Codicil to his last will & testament in our presence______ Henry Will John Lawrence (mark) Jno L. Clark Register for the Probate of Wills & granting of letters of administration for the County of Adams in the State of Pennsylvania personally came John Lawrence & John Gubernator two of the Subscribing Witnesses to foregoing Instrument of writing who on their Solemn oaths do say that they were personally present and saw & heard the herein named Henry Will sign his name unto & seal & publish the foregoing Instrument of writing as & for his last Will & testament & at the time of so doing thereof he the said Henry Will was of a sound & disposing mind memory & understanding to the best of their understanding & belief & that they subscribed their names thereto as witnesses in the presence of (him?) & (each other?) & at his request & at & in the presence of each other at the same time __ And they also have heard the above named Henry Will sign his name unto & seal & publish the last mentioned Instrument of writing as & for a Codicil to his last will & testament and that they Subscribed their names thereto as witnesses in his presence & at his request John B. Letters Testamentary were this day granted to Anthony Shorb & John Shenfelder Executors of Last Will of Henry Will dec to be exhibited into the register's Office at Gettysburg on or before the 19th day of may next and an Account or Reckoning on or before the 19th day of June A.
