Dr. Thomas Balph, for nearly 34 years pastor of the United Presbyterian church here, died in Cleveland, O., yesterday morning. He was born 81 years ago in Butler, Pa., where a number of relatives survive. He was a member of the board of trustees of Westminster college while pastor of a Pittsburg church, and was until recently, a member of the board of the Allegheny Theological Seminary. He became pastor of the local church in 1874, continuing until his recent illness, when he was taken to Cleveland. His widow survives.
