Mrs. Daub was born in Homberg, near Cassel, Germany, April 29, 1828. In 1848 she came to this country with her husband and settled in Pittsburgh, where she had resided ever since. Mrs. Daub was well known to the older families of Pittsburgh; and during the civil war was active in providing for the sick and wounded soldiers. She is survived by two sons, Emil D. and Theodore G., of the firm of John Daub's Sons, on Smithfield street; one daughter, Mrs. Sophie C. Capel, 13 grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.
