Coursin, Alderman of Allegheny County, by Catharine Nunberger of McKeesport, the mother of Annie Nunberger, a minor born April 19, 1883 at McKeesport, Pa. Annie will lie and run around at night and is impudent and saucy and is very disobedient. Uncontrollable. Her father is confined in St. Francis Hospital. Signed by mark. Nathan Shipley deposes that he has known Annie Nunberger for five years. Incorrigible, uses profane lanuage in public places. I know her reputation to be very bad; she is a terror to the neighbors in the vicinity where she resides. These facts I know from living close to her home. Her father is confined in a Pittsburgh hospital. William C. Means, Constable: I have known Annie Nunberger for the past 7 years and know her to run around at night with boys. I have warned her and threatened to arrest her on different occasions. Her parents are unable to control her; her mother is delicate & her father is confined in a hospital. I am a neighbor and know the above is true. Additional Comments: Notes made upon the girl's arrival at the Pennsylvania Reform School, Morganza: Annie Numberger. Father Harry Numberger is at St. Francis Hospital for insane. Mother Kate Numberger lives at McKeesport, Allegheny Co. Sent here for associating with bad company. Description: Height: 4'11 1/2"; weight 115 pounds. Brown hair & eyes; straight nose, small mouth; small pit on left cheek; scar on left forefinger. Age: 16 on April 19, 1899; recived Oct. 17, 1899. Born Penna. of American parentage. Protestant. Neither parent is intemperate; parents own property. 1 older brother, 4 older sisters. Can read & write. Swears, lies. Does not steal or use tobacco. Is not intemperate. Has been arrested before. Letter in folder from B.L. Coursin, Alderman (922 Walnut Street, McKeesport) to J.A. Quay, Supt. of Pennsylvania Reform School, dated Jan. 16, 1902: Please give the bearer, Mr. Holdane, a copy of the committ=ment in the case of the Commonwealth vs. Annie Nunberger. Memorandum from the superintendent's office dated Jan. 17: Gave commitment to Mr. Permar to present at court. Written on reverse of the commitment: Jan. 18, 1902: upon hearing in open court on habeas corpus proceeding, Annie Nunberger is remanded to the custody of Reform School until further order in this matter.
