M'CREARY LOSES LIFE AT BRICK PLANT Caught by the belt and thrown against the fly wheel in the plant of the General Refractories company at Sproul, Charles McCreary, aged 50 years, of that place was instantly killed yesterday morning at 7:30 o'clock. Mr. McCreary was employed as a tender at one of the crushers in the plant where the material used in the manufacture of brick is ground and he had climbed and adjusted the belt while the machine was in motion, when in some manner his clothing was caught and he was thrown against the fly wheel. Dr. C. O. Johnston was hastily summoned from Claysburg and he found upon examination that the man's skull had been fractured and that death was probably instantaneous. Mr. McCreary was a native of Bedford county and his home was formerly at Mann's Choice. He moved to Sproul about a year ago and entered the employ of the General Refractories company. He is survived by his wife and five sons, George, Oscar, Harvey, Gray and Gilmore and two daughters. His son Harvey is the ticket agent on the Bedford division at East Freedom. Deputy Coroner C. C. Rothrock of this city was notified of the accident but not in time to catch a train for that place. He will go to Sproul this morning to conduct an investigation.
