Efforts Being Made to Get a Complete List of Them. A list of the soldiers buried in Blair county has been made, and although it is much to be regretted many graves are now lost which in all probability will not again be found. To save them from oblivion Dr. William D. Hall, of this city, on behalf of Post No. 62, Grand Army of the Republic, has for some time past been endeavoring to make a complete list. There are about seventy-five soldiers buried in the neighborhood of Altoona, but of these he has a record of less than one- half. Below will be found a list of the names so far as he has obtained them, and any one knowing of omissions will please send them to the doctor or to any member of the post, by mail or otherwise. It is to be hoped this matter will not be overlooked but that by another year the list will be much more nearly complete than at present. If any graves are not marked with headstones the government will furnish them free of cost upon the proper application being made. The names are as follows: James John McCormick, First Lieutenant, Company D, buried at St. John's Cemetery. James Maxwell, private, Company L, Seventy-second regiment, in Fairview.
