Beamer, 82, of Messiah Village, Mechanicsburg, died Tuesday, May 27, 2003 at the Village. He was Born May 5, 1921 in Tyrone, a son of the late Jesse and Adeline Price Beamer. He was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Mechanicsburg and service in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Portunis [sic] in the Philippine Islands during World War II. He was a foreman at the US Naval Supply Depot and retired in 1977. He was also a member of the Mechanicsburg VFW and the American Legion Post. Mr. Beamer is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Alice Stine Beamer, his daughter and son-in-law Arletta Joy and Charles Jacoby, a grandson Scott Beamer Reed and his wife Tammy of Hellertown, a granddaughter Kristin acoby [sic] Shughart and her husband Andrew of Mechanicsburg, two great-grandchildren, Justine and Quinn Reed, one sister Katherine Beamer Liner of Port Matilda and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul of Tyrone, Charles of Akron, Ohio and Kenneth of Mechanicsburg and a sister Gertrude of Tyrone. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Malpezzi Funeral Home, 8 Market Plaza Way, Mechanicsburg. Burial will be in Mechanicsburg Cemetery. Friends may call the funeral home Friday from 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Messiah Village Endowment Fund, 100 Mount Allen Drive, Mechanicsburg, Pa. 17055.
