He had been suffering with organic heart trouble for about a year. While sitting on a crate engaged in conversation with his brother Adam, he fell over, and life was soon gone. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Benner, deceased, and was born at Henrietta, November 25, 1862, being aged 58 years 5 months and 25 days. For a number of years he was employed here by the Woodbury Land company, having worked at the clay mines. He is survived by these brothers: Isaac, of Henrietta; Adam of Trough Creek; Levi, of Cross Keys and John, of Royer. He was taken to Cross Keys, where funeral services were held in the Brethren church on Sunday afternoon. Interment was made in the cemetery at that place. Martinsburg Herald, May 13, 1921
