Miss Georgetta Bowloe, a former resident of East Altoona, is dead at Columbus, O., word of her demise having been received last evening by friends at East Altoona. Death was due to tuberculosis, she having contracted the disease in South America four years ago. She was a student in languages and spoke five foreign tongues. She was a graduate of Goucher college, Baltimore, and Temple university, Philadelphia, and also took at special course at the University of Vienna. For several years she was a teacher of language in a western institution. She had traveled extensively and shortly contemplated writing a book on her travels. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. William Dan, of Scranton, and Miss Madeline Bowloe, of Kansas City, Mo. Interment will be made at Hillside, N.J. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Thursday Morning, January 25, 1917
