All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ JOHN BOYER, An aged and respected resident of the East Side, died of diseases incident to old age at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Calvin Black, 617 1/2 Eighth avenue, at 1:10 o'clock this afternoon. The deceased was born in Halifax, Dauphin county, January 21, 1822. He lived there until 13 years ago, when he came to this city. Forty-eight years ago he married Miss Jane Keagle. She preceded him to the grave twenty-five years ago. The following children survive: John D., Mrs. A. L. Ayers, Mrs. Calvin Black and Miss Maggie Boyer, all of this city; Mrs. A. P. Ettin, of Halifax, and J. P., of Pittsburg. Mr. Boyer was a member of the Eighth Avenue Methodist church. The remains will be taken to Halifax for interment on Saturday, but the hour has not yet been fixed. Altoona Mirror, December 3, 1896
