Burkhart, formerly of Gallitzin, died at 2:30 o'clock yesterday morning at the home of his sister, Mrs. C. M. Little, of Blairsville, of a complication of diseases. He had suffered for about one year but had been seriously ill only the last four months. He was a son of Mrs. Jennie M. Burkhart, of South Altoona, was born September 7, 1897 and reared in Gallitzin, graduating from the Gallitzin High school with the class of 1914. He was a member of the Presbyterian Sunday school and the Gallitzin Burial association. He recently moved to this city and was employed by the Penn Central Light & Power company until his health failed. He is survived by his mother and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. C. M. Little and George Burkhart, of Blairsville, and May and Hazel at home. His father, Funeral Director J. S. Burkhart, died just one year ago. The remains were brought to Altoona by Funeral Director Otto G. Gilden, who prepared the body for burial. The remains may be viewed at his late home, 3965 Sixth avenue, South Altoona.
