Tuesday in the Mercy hospital after an extended illness. He was born in Altoona Sept. 6, 1870, a son of Isaac and Sarah (Baird) Burns. He was a former machinist of the PRR, retiring from the Altoona Works in 1940 after 44 years of service. Mr. Burns attended the Second Presbyterian church. He leaves one son, John W., at home; one nephew and a number of nieces. Mr. Burns was the last of his immediate family. Friends will be received at the N. A. Stevens mortuary after 7 P.M. today.
