He was born at Hollidaysburg on Dec. 8, 1870, a son of Andrew and Margaret Byers. He was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad. Surviving are his wife, who was Miss Josephine Hannigan; one brother, Chareles Byers of Hollidaysburg, and two sisters, Mrs. Catharine Hertle of Hollidaysburg and Mrs. Elizabeth Clark of Altoona. Mr. Byers was a member of St. Michael's Catholic church. The body may be viewed at the home after 6 o'clock this evening. The funeral will be held at 9 o'clock Saturday morning at St. Michael's church. Interment will be made in the new St. Mary's cemetery. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., February 11, 1937
