FAGAN - FATAL ACCIDENT - James Fagan, the newly elected Councilman from 
the First Ward, was instantly killed this morning while walking on the 
railroad track at the upper end of the yard.  Mr. Fagan, in company 
with another gentleman, was going up the track, when an engine coming 
unexpectedly, Mr. Fagan thinking his companion in danger in endeavoring 
to save him, lost his foothold, and was litterly cut to pieces by the 
advancing engine.  Mr. Fagan was a man much respected by all who knew 
him, and his loss will be deeply deplored. - Altoona Sun
