He had been in poor health for the past month and was an easy pretty to the insidious disease. Deceased was born in Allensville, Pa., and was aged 45 years at the time of his death. For the past fourteen years he had been a resident of Hollidaysburg, being employed as a leverman at the west board scales in the Hollidaysburg P.R.R. freight classification yards. During that time he boarded and lodged at the home of Mrs. James McKinstry. On account of illness in the McKinstry family, when he took sick several days ago, he was taken to the Thompson home, where he could be given better care. Mr. Focht was elected tax collector of Hollidaysburg borough last fall, but only served in that capacity a few weeks owing to his failing health, and was succeeded by John N. Drass. Charlie Focht was without doubt one of the most popular young men of Hollidaysburg, making friends with all he came in contact by reason of his pleasing and gentlemanly manner, and his death will be a great shock to his many friends. He is survived by his mother who resides at Allensville and by a brother, Irwin Focht, of Duncansville. He was a member of the Moose and Eagle lodges of Altoona. The funeral arrangements have not yet been made and will be announced later. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., Friday Morning, October 25, 1918
