He was born on his father's farm in Antis township April 20, 1876, a son of James and Lydia (Jackson) Gailey, and retired in 1946 as a gang foreman at the westbound repair tracks after having served the Pennsylvania railroad for 50 years, receiving the honor emblem of the company. Mr. Gailey was a member of the First Presbyterian church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Georgianna (Ramsey) Gailey; two sons, Donald R. of Pittsburgh and William L. of Wilkinsburg; six grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters, Andrew of Worthington, Samuel A. and Mrs. George Rhodes of Williamsburg and Mrs. Linnie Diehl of Altoona. A daughter, Mrs. Sylvia Harkness, preceded him in death. Friends will be received at the Laughlin funeral home after noon tomorrow. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., Friday, May 12, 1950
