Local Brevities.

  E. J. Hackett, son of C. J. and E. A. Hackett, died last night at the 
home of his parents, 717 Chestnut avenue, at twenty-five minutes past 
11 o'clock.  The cause of death was consumption, and the deceased was 
aged 31 years, 7 months and 3 days, having been born in Altoona on the 
3d of July, 1859.  He had been confined to his bed for the past three 
weeks.  The deceased had many friends in Altoona who will be sorry to 
hear of his death.  The funeral arrangements will be announced later.
