Formerly Resided in Blair County.

  James McCarty, sr., for many years a resident of Altoona, having been 
employed by the company here, died at Ludland, Ky., Sunday night last, 
aged about 60 years.  He was the father of James McCarty, jr., now 
superintendent of the Alabama and Great Southern railroad.  The body 
will be brought to Altoona on the early morning train Wednesday and 
will be conveyed to St. John's Catholic church, where the services will 
be held.  Interment in St. John's cemetery.
