Marshall McCormick, formerly of this city, died in the county almshouse at half-past 11 o'clock yesterday morning, of consumption. He was about 28 years old. His dying request was that he would like to be buried beside his father in Fairview cemetery. This wish the Commissioners could not gratify. His relatives are nearly all dead. Mr. Timothy Donahue hearing of Marshall's last wish, went to work and raised the sum of $11.45 from the former friends of the deceased in the city, which he handed over to Commissioner McIntosh, and the dying wish of the unfortunate young man will be duly complied with to-day. Mr. Donahue deserves praise for the interest he took in the matter. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Saturday, April 3, 1880
