She was born in County Down, Ireland, February 14, 1820. Her maiden name was McCune. In 1843 she married Charles McKay, who died thirty-six years ago. She has been in America a little over fifty years and had resided in Altoona for twenty-five years. She is survived by three children, John and Margaret, of this city, and Patrick, of Gallitzin. She was a patient, Christian lady under all her suffering and belonged to St. Mark's Catholic church, where requiem mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning. The funeral cortege will leave the house at 8.30 a.m. The burial will be in St. John's cemetery. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Thursday, July 13, 1899
