BESSIE C. MURPHY

Of Sproul, died at 10:55 a.m. yesterday, July 21, 1976, at Nason 
Hospital, Roaring Spring. She had been ill for several months. She was 
born Aug. 4, 1893, in Pavia, Bedford County, a daughter of Samuel and 
Eliza (Corle) Beard, and married James C. Murphy, who died June 12, 
1948. Surviving are seven brothers and sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Hunter of 
Royal Oak, Mich., Mrs. Elizabeth Kough of Duncansville RD, Mrs. Daisy 
Hoover of Clawson, Mich., Alphus of Saint Clairsville, Jesse of Manns 
Choice RD, Mrs. Erma Aikens of Akron, Ohio, and Mrs. Cathern Albright 
of Altoona. Mrs. Murphy was a member of the Sproul Union Church and 
Ladies Aid Society of the church. Friends will be received in the 
Marvin C. Leslie Funeral Home, Claysburg, from noon to 9 p.m. tomorrow 
and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
