ELIZABETH SHOENFELT NICODEMUS, Wife of George M. Nicodemus, died at her home, 305 Twenty-second avenue, last night at 10.10 o'clock after a comparatively brief illness. Death was due to dropsy. Mrs. Nicodemus was born at East Sharpsburg, Blair county, June 12, 1858, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Shoenfelt, both deceased. She was united in marriage at East Sharpsburg, Sept. 18, 1879, to Mr. Nicodemus and had been a resident of this city for almost thirty-six years. In addition to the husband the following children survive, all residents of this city: Mrs. D.A. Vandrew, E.G. Nicodemus, Mrs. Elmer Barto, H.H. Nicodemus, Mrs. William Reese, Edgar M. Nicodemus and Misses Florence, Elsie and Edna, all at home. Five sisters also survive, Mrs. Susanna Kroft of Williamsburg, Mrs. Maggie Harpster of Altoona, Mrs. M. Hudson of Roaring Spring and Mrs. Harvey Smith and Mrs. D. Hoover, both of this city. Twenty-two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Nicodemus was a member of the Fourth Street Church of God where funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock in charge of her pastor, Rev. W.N. Wright who will be assisted by Rev. C.S. Nonemaker of Lakemont and Rev. C.S. Simonton of Juniata. Interment will be made in Grandview cemetery. Altoona Mirror, Wednesday, 18 February 1925
