All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ Olive May Poullos, Sunday school teacher, business owner Mrs. Olive May Poullos, 99, formerly of Tyrone Forge, RD 1 Box 22, Tyrone, and a resident of Moran's Home, Bellwood, died at 8:45 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001 at the Moran's Home. She was born Feb. 3, 1902 at Hannah Furnace, Taylor Township, a daughter of George and Leona (Price) Walk. She was married on May 4, 1922 at Cumberland, Md. to Peter Poullos who died Feb. 15, 1974. She is survived by two daughters and one son: Dorothy Cowher, of RD 1 Tyrone, Audrey Cowher, of RD 3 Tyrone, and William W. Poullos, also of RD 3 Tyrone; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and 17 great- great-grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family, being preceded in death by six brothers: Howard, Wilbur, Gordon, Clayton, Blair, and Stanley; six sisters: Nellie, Mabel, Dortha, Alma, Ruth, and Josephine; two daughters: Kathryn Light and Infant Marie; a grandson, Rich Light, and a great granddaughter, Karen Cowher. She attended the Tyrone First Assembly of God Church and was a former member of the Hannah Church where she taught Sunday school. She enjoyed crocheting and playing the piano. For many years, she and her husband were co-owners of various luncheonettes in the area, including The Sunshine Lunch and The Poullos Lunch in Tyrone, as well as one in Altoona and one in Port Matilda. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Rev. P. William Glunt officiating. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, RD Port Matilda. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 until 4 p.m. and from 7 until 9 p.m. and from 10 until 11 a.m. on Thursday.
