Powley died at his home, 122 Chestnut avenue, on Saturday morning at 5:30 o'clock, death being caused by paralysis after a lengthy illness. He was born April 13, 1885, the son of John and Sarah Pawley with whom he made his home. In addition to the parents he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie Powley, one son, John D., aged 4, a brother, R. W., and the following sisters all of Altoona, Mrs. Guy E. Smith, Mrs. D. P. Gromley, Mrs. D. D. Gregg and Mrs. G. E. Jones. Mr. Powley was a member of the Fourth Lutheran church, the B. of L. F. and E., and the Pennsy Relief. Public funeral services will be held at the residence Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of Rev. W. W. Barkley, pastor of the Fourth Lutheran church.
