Wesley Rumberger Lost His Life at Bellwood. KNOCKED DOWN AND RUN OVER His Home Was in Fostoria and He Leaves a Wife and Eight Children. No Inquest Was Decided Necessary. A fatal accident occurred at Bellwood yesterday afternoon at 2.15 o'clock, the victim of which was J. Wesley Rumbarger, a car inspector in the employ of the Pennsylvania railroad at that place, but whose home is at Fostoria. He was well known in this city, having at one time followed the same occupation here. The accident occurred near the freight station and it was while Mr. Rumbarger was preparing a car to be sent to the shops in this city, when a shifting engine pushed a car in on a side track striking the car at which he was working. He was knocked down, the car passed over him and he was so badly injured that he lived only ten minutes. Coroner McCartney was notified but decided that an inquest was not necessary. Mr. Rumberger was aged 58 years and leaves a wife and eight children - four sons and four daughters. He is also survived by one sister and a brother. He was greatly respected by all who knew him; was a member and trustee of the United Brethren church and a superintendent of the Sunday school. He was also a member of the Pennsylvania Railroad Relief Fund. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon, leaving his late home in Fostoria at 1.30 o'clock and proceeding to Bellwood, where services will be held in the United Brethren church, conducted by Rev. C. C. Miller. Morning Tribune, Thursday, March 8, 1900 1880 District 172 Logan Township Blair County census - J. W. Rumberger, 36, car inspector Elmira Rumberger, 32 Blair M. Rumberger, 9 Charles S.
