ELMER SHIFFLER Of 2517 Eighth avenue, died in Mercy hospital Saturday evening at 7.10 o'clock. He was born in Martinsburg June 27, 1870, a son of Martin J. and Mary Ann (Stroup) Shiffler. His wife, Mary P. Borland Shiffler, died in March, 1932. Surviving are two sons, Edgar H. and E. Gordon of Altoona; a sister, Mrs. Carrie Kensinger of Altoona; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Shiffler retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad in 194? As a clerk. Since his retirement he had been serving as doorman at the Elks' home. He was a member of the Grace Evangelical and Reformed church, Mountain lodge 281, F. and A. M.; Harrisburg consistory; Jaffa Shrine and lodge 102, B.P.O.E. Friends will be received at the Laughlin funeral home. SHIFFLER - Funeral services for G. Elmer Shiffler of 2517 Eighth avenue will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3.30 o'clock in the Laughlin funeral home in charge of Rev. Ralph Harrity. Interment in Rose Hill cemetery.
