LAURA M. SMITH Passed Away at Her home on Pennsylvania Avenue. Yesterday at 12:50 o’clock, Mrs. Laura Mary Smith, wife of P. W. Smith, passed away at her home on Pennsylvania avenue, of complication of diseases. Mrs. Smith had not been in the best of health the past two years. About three months ago she became bedfast and continued growing weaker until the end came at noon today. The passing away of this loving and most devoted wife, mother and daughter leaves a vacancy in the home that can never be filled. She was also a sincere christian woman, a devoted member of the German Lutheran church of which she took a most active part in the choir and Luther society. When a girl she united with the German Lutheran church and since then had been an earnest, ardent worker in the Master’s vineyards. Mrs. Laura M. Smith was born in Tyrone, May 7, 1875 and always resided in Tyrone. She was united in marriage to P. W. Smith, October 4, 1900, and is survived by her husband, three children, Marian, John, and Ardis; also her father, John Silinger.
