SIMON JAMES SMITH Of 112 Sixth street, died at the Altoona hospital at 1.10 o'clock this morning from a complication of diseases, he having been admitted to the institution Monday. The deceased was born in Berwindale, Clearfield county, Nov. 18, 1883, observing his 46th birthday last Sunday. His parents were Michael and Mary (McAllister) Smith. He was united in marriage April 18?, 1925, to Miss Irene McCue at Washington, D.C. Surviving are his wife and these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Robert Gates of Gatesburg, Pa., William Smith of McKeesport, Alex and Paul Smith of Warriors Mark and Mary A. Smith of New York city. Mr. Smith was a veteran of the World war and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. The remains may be viewed at the Hickey funeral home, 911 Lexington avenue, any time after 6 o'clock this evening. The deceased was a member of St. Mark's Catholic church, the funeral to be held Saturday morning at an hour to be announced later with interment following in Calvary cemetery.
