William Spade, a former resident of Hollidaysburg, died at his home at Stockton, California on January 9, of Bright's disease, after a long illness, news of his death reaching this place yesterday, by letter. The deceased was the son of William and Anna Spade, of Hollidaysburg, and was born here sixty-six years ago, settling in the far west and has not been back since. There are many persons living here now who were well acquainted with him and he was also well known in Altoona. He was a brother of the late Mrs. Frederick of Front street. He is survived by his wife and six children. The funeral took place on Sunday, January 21, at Stockton. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Friday Morning, February 9, 1917
