He was a son of Jacob H. and Elizabeth Custer Stiffler and was born near Hollidaysburg nearly 70 years ago. He went to Detroit about thirty years ago where he had been employed by the Ford Motor Company and later was engaged in business. He had been living retired for several years. surviving are his wife and four children and one brother, J. Roy Stiffler of Johnstown, retired Pennsylvania Railroad engineer, now spending the winter in Florida. George R. Stiffler of Geeseytown and A. L. Stiffler of Canoe Creek are uncles and Mrs. Sarah Metzker of Martinsburg is an aunt. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., March 7, 1945
