All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _______________________________________________ VIOLET MARIE 'VI' WILT Mrs. Violet Marie "Vi" Wilt, 94, Harrisburg, passed away Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004, at Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg. She was born May 28, 1910, in Duncansville, daughter of the late Robert and Emma (Shaw) Smith, and resided in Juniata, Altoona, before moving to Harrisburg in 1965. Mrs. Wilt was a member of Church of the Brethren, Juniata, Altoona, and also was a supporting member of In Touch Ministries with Dr. Charles Stanley. Her favorite hobbies were baking and writing poetry. Her poems were regularly published in the Altoona Mirror and other newspapers and church publications. On May 30, 1976, she won an award from the Keysner Poet's Chapter of Pennsylvania for her poem, "Precious Heritage," written in honor of America's bicentennial celebration of 1976. She was the widow of Paul B. Wilt, who passed away in 1963. Surviving are her daughters: Vivian M. Rode, with whom she resided, and Myrna J. and her husband, Jay C. Hileman, of Harrisburg; her half brother, Archie Smith in Florida; two grandchildren: Bonnie M. Hileman and Jay T. Hileman; three great-grandchildren: Justin Hileman, Janel Widdowson and Brandi Lynn Gamble; and a great-great-granddaughter, Laci Grace Gamble. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg. Arrangements are by Zimmerman Auer Funeral Home, Harrisburg Pa.
