WISSINGER Mr. Wissinger of Phoenix, Ariz., died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 1990, at a Phoenix veterans hospital, after an extended illness. Known as Gene, Mr. Wissinger retired as a self-employed well drilling contractor in the Phoenix area. Prior to that he was affiliated with Wissinger Brothers Well and Pump Co. He was born in Altoona, the son of Walter G. and Bertha (Reed) Wissinger, and Sept. 27, 1946, married Mary Louise Weakland. Surviving are his wife of Coalport, five children: Jana Sacolic of Coalport, Marlyn in North Carolina, Erla of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Erin Litzinger of Patton and John of Van Ormer; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are six brothers and sisters: Walter J., Helen Luckner, Shirley Ulrich and Donn of San Diego, Calif.; and Audrey Burchfield and Herbert A. of Altoona. Mr. Wissinger served with the United States Marine Corps in Guadalcanal and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Interment was made near Phoenix.
