GATES - LEEFE.

  Lieutenant Orville C. Gates of the U.S. Marines, located on Haiti island, 
and son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph K. Gates, formerly of this place, but now of 
Fredericksburg, was wedded to Miss Gertrude M. Leefe of New Orleans, La., 
August 7.  Mr. Gates left here on July 27 for New Orleans where the ceremony 
was performed by Father Donovan, army chaplain at Beauregard.  Lieut. Gates 
and his bride arrived here Monday and are visiting among friends.  Mr. Gates 
will return to his duties next Wednesday, he having been in the service since 
1912.
