And now comes to light a quiet little nuptial trip that occurred on Wednesday, December 13, when Miss Catharine Dippen, of Juniata, and Clyde H. Hescox, of Altoona, slipped away to Oakland, Md., and were tied up for life by the Rev. W. W. Shultz, pastor of the Oakland Methodist Episcopal church. The happy pair are said to have started out to attend a country butchering at the young man's paternal home in Cambria county, and instead went afar from the scene of the slaughter to a nuptial altar in Maryland. They kept the little romance a secret, presumably as a Christmas surprise to their friends, but it is said to have leaked when the proud husband burst into confidence with fellow workmen in the Altoona car shops on Saturday. The bride is a charming Juniata girl, a daughter of Mrs. Sarah J. Deppen, of 713 Sixth avenue. Mr. Hescox is a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Hescox, of Glasgow, and has for some time boarded in the East End as an employe of the Pennsy. The pair for the present will be at home in Juniata with the bride's mother.
