All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ MESSINO - TURIANO In a beautiful wedding ceremony, performed before the altar of St. Matthew's Catholic church on Saturday morning at nine o'clock, Miss Vernia Turiano, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Turiano, 1308 Woodland avenue, became the bride of Tony Messino, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Messino, of Ironsville, the Very Reverend James A. Tolan, V.F., rector of the church, officiating. The happy couple was attended by Miss Sarah Porlavecchio, of Akron, Ohio, as maid of honor, and Mr. Anthony Corrente, of Clearfield, as best man. The bride looked charming in a wedding gown of white satin overlaid with lace, with long tulle train, white shoes, bridal cap and long bridal veil. She carried a bridal bouquet of roses and lilies. The maid of honor was gowned in light green satin dress, silver hat and silver slippers and carried a bouquet of carnations and roses. The two young flower girls, Mickey Turiano and Mary Saylor, both of Tyrone, were dressed in white and carried baskets of roses. Other members of the wedding party included Mr. and Mrs. James Turiano, parents of the bride; Mr. and Mrs. Nick Messino, parents of the groom; Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Turiano, Akron, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Corrente and family, Akron, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Domenic Castagnola; Mrs. Carlo Porlavecchio and daughters Sarah and Mary, of Clearfield; Misses Mary and Margaret Mareno, Clearfield; Mrs. Mary Catalania, Clearfield,; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Maseno, Lewistown; Mr. and Mrs. Pete Marquett, Tyrone Forge; Joseph Caffarelli and sisters, Rosie, Pauline, Ironsville; Miss Angelene Riccio, Ironsville; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Saylor, Tyrone Forge; Mrs. Santi Panasiti and family, Tyrone; Edward and John Morrosh, Wilkes Barre; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lombardo and family, Tyrone; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Forte and family, Tyrone; Mr. and Mrs. John Zanghi, Tyrone; Miss Tanzza Mannino and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Turiano, Tyrone. The bride is a well known Tyrone young lady and has been employed at the Reliance Manufacturing Company in Tyrone for some time. The groom holds a position in the maintenance of way department of the P.R.R. They will make their residence at 1308 Woodland avenue for the present. Following the wedding ceremony, the company repaired to the home of the bride's parents, where a sumptuous wedding repast was served.
