Miss Katherine Lola Mentzer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Mentzer of near Martinsburg, and Dr. Earl Z. Rhodes of Saxton, were married at the home of the bride at 6 o'clock on the evening of July 24, the ceremony being performed by Rev. W. W. Frey of Lovett, Pa. They were attended by Miss Louise Mentzer, sister of the bride, and Mr. Guy M. Ormsby. The bride wore silk georgette and carried a shower bouquet of sweet peas. The bridesmaid wore white and carried pink sweet peas. The home was beautifully decorated with ferns and flowers, the prevailing colors being pink and white. Only the members of the immediate families attended the wedding. At the conclusion of a reception and wedding supper, the couple departed on an extended motor trip, and on their return will take up their residence in their newly purchased home near Martinsburg. Dr. Rhodes is a successful physician and surgeon of that section. He is a graduate of the Martinsburg High school and University of Michigan and Intern? took a post graduate course at the University of Pennsylvania.
