At 8 o'clock last evening at the parsonage of the First Church of Christ, Sixth avenue and Ninth street, Rev. Walker, pastor, performed the nuptial rites of Alfred G. Snyder whose home address is 1011 Eighteenth avenue and Bertha M. Swoveland, of 1915 Eighth avenue, the beautiful ring ceremony being used. The bride is the accomplished daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Swoveland and for the past year was an operator for the Bell telephone company, for some time previous to her employment by the telephone company, she acted as cashier for the Turner Drug Co. [sic] She is a most charming young woman and has the best wishes of life of a host of friends. The bridegroom formerly was a machinist for the Pennsylvania railroad company, but is now in the service of the United States, being attached to a government transport. At the expiration of his furlough he expects to make his fourth voyage across the ocean. The newly married couple left last night on the 12.10 express for Philadelphia and New York. During the term of her husband's service, Mrs. Snyder will reside with her parents. Altoona Times, Tuesday Morning, November 26, 1918
