H. Gilson at His Home in Gallitzin. Sunday evening at 6 o'clock Mr. J. H. Gilson, a highly respected citizen of Gallitzin, died at his home in that place, aged 71 years. Mr. Gilson had been an employe of the Pennsylvania Railroad company for at least fifty years, and for the past thirty-five years had been first class baggage, express and ticket agent at Gallitzin. Since the inauguration of the Employes' Savings department he had been in charge of one of the depositories. On January 1, 1900, he was retired on a pension. Mrs. Gilson died in February, 1897, and was buried in this city. The following children survive: William D., who is assistant agent for the company at Gallitzin; James, Eugene and Lizzie, all at home. Mr. Gilson had been a lifelong member of the Presbyterian church. The funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday at the late home of the deceased. The cortege will come to Altoona the same day on accommodation, which arrives in this city at 1.40 o'clock in the afternoon. The interment will be made in Fairview cemetery.
