Friday, 16 Aug 1912 Volume 45, Number 32 Death of Mrs. Elizabeth Jones Mrs. Elizabeth Vaugh Jones died Sunday last at the home of her son, R. D. Jones of Johnstown, in the ninetieth year of her age. Mrs. Jones' maiden name was Elizabeth Vaugh, and she was born in Wales. She came to America when about 26 years old and located in Ebensburg. About a year after landing in America, she and David W. Jones were married. They lived for a while in Ebensburg and then took up their residence in Cambria township about six miles north of Ebensburg. She retained remarkable physical and mental powers until a few years ago, when she became greatly enfeebled. Three years ago Mrs. Jones left the old homestead and decided to live with her children. Several months ago she went to stay with her son, R. D. Jones. Her extreme age and many years of hardship caused her to decline gradually until her death. Mrs. Jones is survived by the following children: John D., Eli D. and Roland D., all of Cambria township and M. [initial faded] and R. D. of Johnstown. Twenty two grandchildren and three great grandchildren survive. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Calvinistic Methodist church, with interment in Lloyd's cemetery.
