(Ebensburg, Pa.) 1859-1865: February 16, 1860 At his residence, in the borough of Ebensburg, on Sunday evening, the 12th inst., M. C. M'Cague, Esq., aged 32 years. Mr. M'Cague's disease was inflammation of the bowels. His illness was brief. He took his bed on Tuesday of last week, and died on the following Sunday evening. He was appointed Post Master at this place under President Pierce, and held the office up to the time of his untimely death. He was universally esteemed for his many good qualities. He retained his mental faculties unimpaired to the last. A short time before his death, conscious that his end was approaching, he bade farewell to all present, with as much composure as though he were but starting upon an ordinary journey. Mr. M'Cague leaves a wife and one child, with many other relatives, to mourn his loss; and in this hour of their affliction they have the sympathies of the entire community.
